Penn Says - Technical Mess

Hey,

I love Penn Says!

The Crackle site, however, is such a mess. Once again I though Penn simply hadn't done a show in a few weeks. Turns out he's done many, but they're just incredibly difficult to find.

Problems:

1) The main link to the show (http://crackle.com/c/Penn_Says) just leads to a page that says, "Sorry, this video is not available."

2) Everywhere throughout the Crackle site directs you to this dead link. The link in their Show Guide, the link on Penn's Crackle profile page, etc. All of them lead to a dead-end.

3) The RSS feeds are both dead (feed://crackle.com/rss/media/ZmM9NTImZnA9LTEmZng9.rss and feed://www.Crackle.com/rss/media/pennsays/featured.rss).

4) The iTunes Store version says there have been no new shows since December 5.

It's a real shame that terrible web design is keeping people from watching the show. The more recent shows only have a couple comments each, not counting the one I just posted about what a cluster-f@#k the site is.

I'm posting this here because it seems like the powers-that-be over at Crackle have their ears closed and their brains turned off. Maybe MofoBabe or someone could let Penn know...

For anyone who is having trouble watching the new ones: Go to Crackle's Show Guide, click on REALITY, then under Penn's show click on FIRST SHOW, and from there you will be able to navigate to the newer ones using the icons near the bottom of the page.

Yep, it's pretty crap. I'm not speaking for anyone but I not sure if Penn has much to do with the technical side of things. Best bet now is the youtube channel although that too has its problems; the RSS Feed is crap, the videos show up out of chronological order. It's a shame because I love Penn Says too.

Cheers

Hi,

Thank you so much for writing out all the errors so perfectly. It was very easily understood and thorough.

Penn has absolutely nothing to do with the technical aspects of the site...but I did pass your post along to him and he forwarded it to the folks over at Crackle. They were quick to respond and have fixed some issues while addressing others. Here is some of what I heard back from Crackle:

"
For issues 1 & 2, something went wrong over the break (when episodes were automated to play), and there were some bad links. Thats all fixed now, I checked the site myself and links seem to be working correctly again.

For issue 3, programming is looking into the rss feeds, and should fix soon."

As far as the iTunes issue goes..they are currently evaluating whether or not they want to continue putting it on iTunes. I'll keep you posted.

There were quite a few posts waiting to go up slamming Crackle. I didn't put them all up..only because it was all so redundant..and they really did respond quickly to the request for everything to be fixed.

Thank you all for your patience.

now lets all go enjoy some PENN SAYS!

Sincerely,
Audrey

Audrey,

Glad my post helped (I wrote the original post here; must have posted it anonymously by mistake).

The Crackle site seems to be working now, but the RSS feed still doesn't show anything newer than December 5th. Hope they get that fixed soon, since that's the only way I ever know to go look for a new show.
