Welcome to the Penn and Teller bulletin board, a great place to keep in touch with
fellow Penn & Teller fans or ask questions about the guys. We welcome your thoughts!
I can hear the fucking fireworks from my house. I can see the fucking fireworks from my house. I can feel the fucking fireworks from my house. But I can't watch Penn Says on YouTube.
I don't agree that a "1st amendment error has occured" as the video states. Sony are a private company and if they don't want us to see it then that's up to them. I just want to point out to them that it's fucking dumb thing to do and for this reason I'm not buying another Sony product until this ban is lifted. Let's not bring freedom of speech into a place where it's not needed.
Cheers

Jamie is exactly right. This isn't censorship, because there isn't a government involved pointing guns at anyone.
The fact that I can't see PennSays anymore is fucking retarded, but it's not censorship. Also, that video sucked major ass for other reasons, the most important of which is that it made my head hurt. Some may attribute this to the bottle of wine that I just polished off, but I don't buy it.
Yeah Penn Say won't play in Canada on youtube and Crackle just gives me an error that probably could have been trapped by a slightly competent web developer. The iTunes feed hasn't shown anything since December, I think. And trying to get it via Zune has the same results. (Maybe iTunes blocks it in Canada?)
Anyway, maybe issues need to be worked out with Sony and rights in other countries but it's a bit frustrating for fans who weren't lucky enough to be born from American sperm.
Ha. So I emailed Sony Canada's customer service about the cocked up rights issue. This is the response I got:
Thank you for contacting Sony Support.
I'm sorry; Although we are always happy to assist in resolving technical issues with our Sony supplied Hardware and Software, we do not provide Device Drivers, support or troubleshooting for the installation, configuration, or compatibility issues of third-party Hardware or Software. As such, we can neither warrant, nor guarantee the functionality of any third-party Hardware or Software installed on our VAIO Computers.
I would recommend contacting your third-party manufacturer for support and troubleshooting on the correct installation, configuration and/or any Device Drivers required for their product. They should be happy to help you.
I suggest that you use the automatic model detection feature of the Sony support site to determine the correct model number of your Sony VAIO Computer.
I have no idea why Sony does this to the rest of the world. I could see all of the videos until a few weeks ago. Why show it and suddenly just decide NOT to show it? I wanna know why. It feels like Sony are a bunch of sadists
Been wondering wtf is wrong whit crackle pages, so glad to find this thread. Would love to hear some reasoning behind this. Is sony somehow going to make great deal of money whit penn says clips? Does it cost them anything, if they are uploaded to youtube? Allso what Penn thinks about this. Too bad we wouldnt see it haha.
But lets hope it gets back online for everyone some day and best whishes to penn and all the fans
