Welcome to the Penn and Teller bulletin board, a great place to keep in touch with
fellow Penn & Teller fans or ask questions about the guys. We welcome your thoughts!
Holy FUCK! Am I ever excited for this. I hope that they don't take it too seriously and fuck around a bit. If it is intended to be pure drama, I fear that it may have already jumped the shark. If it's a quasi-spoof of detective shows, it sounds brilliant.
Either way, I'll watch every goddamned episode they make... especially if Teller is a robot or some crazy shit.
Paul - I think it's supposed to be an hour long comedy, not a dramatic affair. It sounds awesome and I too will be watching every single episode.
I really hope that this show happens with the minimum amount of network interference. Since it's on ABC I assume this means that there won't be much profanity or nudity (as in Bullshit), but hopefully those will be the only limitations. I'd love to see a show in the spirit of Penn and Teller Get Killed - hilarious and darker than the typical fare on TV, with some pranks/magic/debunking thrown into the mix. I'm just worried that some network suit will say "it needs more celebrity guest stars" or "turn the duo into a trio with a hot female sidekick".
Also, I'm curious about how this will affect Penn & Teller's other projects. Are they still going to be doing Bullshit and the live show at the Rio, in addition to this new show? (Audrey, maybe you know the answer to this or could ask the guys.)
Penn & Teller fighting crime in Las Vegas? It can only be a comedy! I like the idea and would definitely watch it. The only thing about this that depresses me is the chance of me ever getting to see it - but where there is the Internet there is hope!
Can you just imagine Teller as a suicide intervenor/negotiator? Hehe the potential jumpers could be distracted by the amazing talking Teller while Penn could sneak up behind them and grab them. Although it might be important to ask the jumpers their religion first, could make a difference how hard they try and save them. lol
Wow!!! My mind is completely blown. I enjoyed their movie and 'Invisible Thread' so much, and have been wishing they'd do more co-acting projects. This is a fan's dream come true.
