Welcome to the Penn and Teller bulletin board, a great place to keep in touch with
fellow Penn & Teller fans or ask questions about the guys. We welcome your thoughts!
And Facebook, for that matter- on social networking sites most people just post inane fucking blither, any mundane fucking thought that comes in their head at the moment.
This is just a formulaic dumb comedy routine. Take something new, and play dumb so you can make fun of it.
Every time a new communication tool comes along, some dumbass complains that anyone can use it to say/write dumb stuff as if you will have to watch/read/hear every single person who uses it. So don't follow people who say dumb things.
These sites are used over and over again by the average person to try and make themselves feel important. They write any idiotic random thought that comes into their head, no matter how inane. People are unbelieveably stupid and narcissistic, made more so by the ability to electronically communicate their meaningless thoughts and/or daily activities to the world. It's Andy Warhol's worst nightmare. As Richard Jeni once said "You know what the average person is? Average." Everyone isn't special, nobody cares what you're doing or thinking right now, or tomorrow or the next day- or most likely, ever.
One of the big reasons I post on this site is the show really makes me laugh and it's one of the few places on the Internet where I'm allowed to curse my goddamn motherfucking ass off.
You must be one of those people who likes to post the mundane bullshit about your life on [this forum] so other people can experience your quiet desperation.

I looked it up- couldn't find Dickbook or Cuntbook on the Internet. WHat about Footbook? If any guys have ever looked at escort sites, you might notice partly nude young women wearing extremely high heels. I've been told, by an escort, that this is a widely sought after fetish- she got paid good money to grind her heels into a guy's testicles while he jerked off. No sex with her was involved. She didn't really like it, but hey, it's a job.
I once saw an digital art project where they scanned peoples blogs for keywords and visualized the ones that came up most.. depression, obsession, suicide. Some fucked up people do their thing online.
Modern media is all about giving people a false perception of self-importance and what they should be. Everybody has to be a rockstar mentality, screw talent ya know. Once they realize they're not rockstars and nobody gives a shit they get depressed, but it's not them. They just got their hopes up to high. The irony is that all the rockstars today try their hardest to live a somewhat normal life, and people that still live like rockstars (the paris hiltons of this world) have done nothing in their life to deserve that status. I think it's going to implode on itself pretty soon.
