im not sure if an episode has been done on this, or is being looked at but have Penn & Teller addressed the upcoming proposal that Internet service providers will be given the right to choose what goes on the internt by 2012? a dedicated site to this issue is:
breifely: the ISP's will cut-off access to sites like wikipedia (promoting their own alternatives) except for people that agree to pay extra for internet; slowly destroying these sites by reducing the number of visits they recieve, and thus their income from ads. smaller sites that are privately owned users will again be charged extra for viewing, killing them off as well. the ISP's plan to leave only mainstream sites and free speech on the internet will be limited to whatever these sites allow. The current system allows for equal banwidth and accessbility to all interntet, this is termed "net neutrality", ISP's want to destroy this for profit.
