Condolences to Somaliland

Somaliland cyberspace has sent a sympathy and condolence message on the death of Mohamed I.Egal, the late president of Somaliland.

The message, addressed to the Somaliland Times newspaper, said:

"In the name of Allah the Compassionate the Merciful, I console all the esteemed children and the whole family of the late president, on the occasion of his death.

I have learnt with deep shock and sadness of the tragic death of President Mohamed Egal.

I extend to you, the family of the deceased president and the office of presidency, my deepest and heartfelt sympathy.

As you mourn that great son of Somaliland, Mohamed Egal, be rest assured that you are not alone. His passing away at this critical point in Somaliland's journey towards a renaissance represents a colossal loss to the Horn of Africa.

President Egal-- who died in the night on May 3, after a long debilitating illness-- would be remembered for his role in giving Somaliland an independent voice in world affairs after the collapse of the Somalia.

Very rarely does a man create something of truly epic proportions - something with the power and influence to affect the thoughts of people for decades to come.

Very rarely can a man do this in the midst of a public attitude that defies the very message he is conveying. Very rarely can a man do this and live to see the world consciousness slowly begin to change towards that man's dream.

I pray to Exalted Allah to embrace his soul in His endless blessings most generously, and to make the sphere in which he dwells now, an era of relaxation and being emerged in Allah's forgiveness.

By His Utmost Generousness and Benevolence,

Sincerely,

Mohamed Bali
