I've had both versions and I must disagree with rocklobsta-- the remixes have far superior sound quality. Tom Durack, who mixed the Cosmic Thing album and everything since, remastered all the songs from the original David Byrne-produced tracks. the vocals have been cleaned up (especially on mesopotamia). I always thought the original tracks sounded flat and muted, as if they were singing in a sound-proofed room, but the remixes sound much more rich and expansive. but by making some of the songs less sloppy, Durack removed some subtle details in songs like Loveland and Cake and Throw That Beat. I still prefer them, though.
