Looking for Collectors Contacts

by

Dear All,

I am interested in the History of the Free Polish Armed Forces in WW2. I also collect Polish Regimental Badges and always look for good written materials about the Polish Free Forces. I would like to establish contacts with other collectors to be able to extend my collection.
I am particularly interested in 2PAMOT (The Second Motorised Regiment) of the 1Polish Armoured Division, and 9 Rifle Battalion known as “Flandrysjki”. I have been looking for any materials about those units.

I am looking forward for your letters.

Artur

Conect Napier (of Scotland) and Napierski (of Poland later Prussen also)

by

The name NAPIERSKI are existening since 1572. It was JAN NAPIERSKI , also KOSTKA (2. name). He does live in Mazowien (Massuren)and he was "Dekan" or "Underdekan" from Pultuski. I think "Pultuski" ist a town in Mazowien.
NAPIERSKI is the polish kind of NAPIER. It`s possible JAN NAPIERSKI come from Scotland to Poland. He was become a member of polish clan DABROWA / also KOSTKA. Clan DABROWA was a powerful lineage in Mazowien, a district of Poland later Westprussian and later Germany. My grandgrandfather was born in Thorn (Prussian). Today I live in Germany. Today the area Mazowien is Poland.

Question: Did the name NAPIER existend in Scotland for 1572? Can JAN Napier(ski) was born in Scotland, or his father or grandfather?

Origine des NAPIERSKI

by

Adam Rychlicki Staff Sergent 1939

by

Adam Rychlicki, my great uncle, was in exile in Scotland after the German invasion.
Can anyone tell me how they were accommodated? Where did they stay, what did they do? If anyone knew of him, I wish they would contact me at parisi@mindspring.com.
I know he was repatriated to Poland in 1948, where he died shortly thereafter of TB.
Thank you,
Nancy G. Parisi

I'm writing a biography about my father, Jozef Michal Rzemieniecki, he was in the 3rd Carpatian Brigade in the Polsh 2nd Army.
I wonder if you can send me a foto from Wojtek because i'm writing a passage in my book.
By the way, anyone who reads this item, is there anyone who did know my father, he came from Sosnow and was born on 21 november 1919. I'm also looking for a camp in Russia called Orlovsk in Orlovskaja oblast.
Thanks in advance,
Anna Rzemieniecki

The bear Wojtek, Edinburgh zoo

by

Dear Anna,
I can remember, as a child, my mother would take me to the zoo in edinburgh, where we lived, to see Wojtek. We spoke polish to him and of course he understood every thing we said!

Where is Voytek's statue??

by

Several years ago I was in the member's house at Edinburgh Zoo and was delighted to see the statue of Voytek. But on visiting last year, the statue was gone and the woman in charge claimed to know nothing about it. Does anyone know what has happened to this wonderful piece of Scottish/Polish culture??
