Here's hypotetical question. 2 people...both are basically rich and doesn't not have to work....1 person spends all his "training" time in the MA school attending class. The second person goes to the regular classes but, spends most of his time training at home. Which person will excel quicker in his art?

The one who has the better info and/or is just a plain better learner or is a more experienced fighter would obtain the better skills.

Now everything being equal: same school, instructor, abilities, etc.. then the one who had the most diverse training partners would benefit the most and come out a better practitioner.

Sincerely,
Teacher Ivester

Realistically, to excel one needs to train both in private and group settings. Someone training in both will do better than someone exclusively training in only one setting even if that single setting person spends more time in totality.
