At 7.30 on Friday April 2nd. Bill King will be giving a talk entitled “The River Thames at War” in Drayton St Leonard Village Hall. This will feature the Upper Thames Patrol (a kind of floating Home Guard), stuff on WW2 Air photo-reconnaissance from Mount Farm and Benson airfields, boatbuilding for the war effort, and river defences etc. Lots of interest for everybody, all are welcome, entry £1.50 for non members, refreshments available. Membership is open to all, and only costs £5.00, a sum which represents a discount on the cost of attending the four or five talks programmed for 2004.
