Annual sponsored bicycle ride.
The annual sponsored walk or bike ride in aid of the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust will be on Saturday 13th September 2008. Walkers or riders (StRiders) visit churches in Oxfordshire (and some neighbouring counties equivalent charities), sponsored for the number of churches visited. We usually join in by manning our church to confirm the visits (Welcomers), and we need volunteers to do this, please sign up on the list in church or let me know you’ll help. Welcomers can be sponsored too.
Also this year we’d like families to join in the event as StRiders, and as far as possible to go as a coordinated group as a village youth activity of the church. Families can join in regardless of whether they come to church or not. This is an event to gauge the feasibility of youth activities in the village led by the church. We won’t be able to accept unaccompanied young people as StRiders which is why this is billed as a family event – families going round the number of churches at a pace they set, but keeping in touch with other Drayton St Leonard family groups to see how their friends are getting on. After seeing how we all get on, let’s see if we can do other youth friendly activities. The sign up sponsorship sheets for StRiders are also in the church.
