I like wearing my necklace all the time (a gift from hubby), but my hair is ALWAYS tangling up in it!
So I'll go through phases of wearing it and not.
I DID find that the finer the link/weave/chains on the necklace, the more my hair tangles in it. I finally bought a small mariner's chain for my diamond heart pendant. It's the best as far as not tangling (as much as the others).
