I wanted to depict a late 1970 towards an early '80s vehicle.
Many pictures I have gathered showed Soltams manned by Reserve strength, especially in the late 70s and 80s where they still deploy in Northern Israel and South Lebanon for support roles.
The vehicles often suffered heavy abuses and lack of maintenance by the reserve crew. (As long as the mortar can shoot, anything go!)
This vehicle is shown deployed most likely in South Lebanon where the terrain is much more humid and wet. This vehicle suffered from multiple deployments in a few pre-fixed areas and the movement of the crew to get the gun up firing and re-deploying into another area.
The amount of movements on the vehicle can be seen by the amount of dirts and muds left behind by the crew on the platform and the rear deck to access personal belongings.
