Hi Hugo,
Thanks for the message. Over the base colour mixed from Tamiya acrylics, I applied a thin layer of Mig Productions' pigments 'Europe Dust' and 'Beach Sand', thinned with Humbrol Enamel thinner. Over this I added rain streaks using brown coloured oil paint washes in vertical streaks, then to add a little more definition to the pattern, I used Lifecolor Tensochrome colours, which being acrylic based tend not to bleed into the pigment, but stay where you put them and dry with a more contrasty appearance. The model actually looks dirtier when viewed from above, as the fenders have deposits of dry dust on them.
The chalk 'graffiti' on the turret side was based on the well known photo, and was made with a sharpened Crayola white colouring pencil (from my kids' pencil box..) It's tough finding something that breaks up that big green turret sidewall, but the chalk marks do help! I used Hauler PE fenders, stowage boxes and the 'general' set, plus Hauler's resin engine and gun barrel which features rifling, and is quite noticable on a gun of this calibre. The headlight lens is from PSP.
Thanks again!
Marcus
