Response to KV-2 finished

Hello,
Once again I have to congratulate you for a fantastic model. I know the photo you are talking about and I must say that your model is at least as good as the real one!
As you have already talked about your excellent weathering, I would like to add the magnificent attention to detail like the rusty contact points on tracks and on the wheels contact surface as it should be on an abandoned tank.
As I am building a KV-2 (an early version with MT-1 turret) from Trumpeter using several books as reference (like the magnificent Tankograd one that I bought at IPMS-UK), I really appreciated your. But there are a small detail I would like to ask you: as everybody knows the Trumpeter barrel is 3mm short and there are several replacements, but like the barrel on your 1/48 model, all of them as the 2 traversal exterior grooves on the barrel, but I have read that those grooves shouldn’t be there. I have observed several photos of close barrels on KV-2s and I find no traces of the grooves: they are smooth all along. So is this feature a rare one, or the grooves do exist but are very little noticeable?
So, keep on the good work at TMMI,
My best regards,
Luis Alho
