Hello everybody!
Thought I post a few pics on my latest model that I just finshed in time for the Euro Militaire show next weekend. The scene depicts a bunch of drunken Estonian volunteers from the 20th Waffen-SS division on their way back from the front-line for a few days of rest and recovery. On their journey the men has caught the attention of an ownerless dog prowling a nearby farmstead for food.
I have attached a bunch of pics describing the build that took me almost to the day 2 years to complete. I would also like to use the moment to thank my friend Ulf Andersson for making the sign on the base and all my friends for supporting me during this build. I would also like to pay a special thanks to Werner Geier who sadly past away during this build. Werner was better known to some of us as "Mr RSO", and his help and commitment during this build was absolutely admirable.
The finished vignette. The RSO and PaK is painted with Humbrols. They are also weathered with Humbrols, MIG oils and pigments. The figures are painted with Vallejo colours. The branches on the trees are made out of moss and the dog is from Doug´s Original with some minor modifications done to it.

The Italeri/Tamiya kit of the RSO is almost as old as I am and some modifications had to be done to it. Such as the exhaust that was replaced with new ones made out of copper pipes. The tracks are from WWII-productions and the drive sprockets are from MK35

The RSO before painting with Royal Model PE. I scratched built a new flatbed using plastic strips as the original kit parts are too wide

I also scratched a tarp for the flatbed using Magic Sculpt. In all, it consists of twelve individual pieces.

The flatbed was covered with a bunch of stuff before the tarp was fixed to it.

The nowadays famous "hairspray technique" was used on the gun and gun shield, which was both fun and easy to use.
