This is my latest creation, I want to start doing knocked out vehicles and this is my first attempt. Being my first knocked out vehicle I didn't want to go overboard so the vehicle is simply disabled by a round to the front right lower hull that didn't cause an internal explosion.
I really put alot of little things with this tank destroyer and studying the pictures you might find some. For example some of the not so obvious is a bolt head that is missing from the front hull add on armor, a missing piece of the sprocket, replacement bolts on the roof which are primer red. I also textured the surface with a dremel tool this time instead of my usual mr.surfacer and really like the way it turned out. I have the smoke stains surrounding the front hatches to portray a small fire from the damage. Also if you look closely I added a crackle technique to the area around the same front area that would of gotten hot from the fire and the paint is actually flaking a bit. A replacment barrel is seen with the original muzzle brake screwed back on. I also added welded post to the turret roof to hold the additional track lengths. I added some leaves in the mud that is clumped unto the lower section of the hull as well.
The kit itself is a Dragon expo 08 Bodo Spranz with voyager shurtzen, and Eduard p.e. details. I scrathed the smoke discharges from evergreen tubing. Speaking of scratched I made the stowage rack from p.e. frets, and added plenty of detail inside the fighting compartment such as ammo racks and correct hull roof dimensions from Apoxie Sculpt. I wired the radio gear up and added a Verlinden hull floor and Transmission. I added a LED light near the hull floor so that the details inside can be easily seen through the hatches. Fruilmodel tracks completed the build.
I painted the vehicle with Tamiya's on outside, and Vallejo, and Floquil on inside. Weathering was done with MIG pigments and Acrylic resin for the mud, as well as Windsor Newton oils. For the name plate I used twisted wire and glued to a section of copper plate and ruffed it up with mr.surfacer, and applied a base of black paint and had fun with different pigments till I got what you see here.
I hope you enjoy, and I appreciate any comments!
