Here are some shots of the tank that I am currently working on. I have spent the time since my last post getting the weathering started with many hours spent dinging up the paint using a 10/0 brush, Tamiya Olive green XF-58, Field Gray XF-65, Kahki Drab XF-51 and a sharpened No.2 HB pencil.

The drivers vision blocks and turret periscopes have been painted black and will get a gloss cote. Some of the sctratches and dings have had a wash application of the orinigal sand or radome tan color applied to them to reduce the stark look and show age. Some larger areas have the colors applied in "rings"(fried egg?)or layers to show some depth to the surface damage.
I used a light overspray of the base colors to tone down the markings and numbers prior to dinging. The pencil was used to give a sheen to those high traffic areas around the hatches, access plates and handles where the crew moves about. Some of the base color of Kahki Drab was also dry brushed around the the hatch edges and turret/hull top.

I am waiting for my technical advisor(Brother Ed)to come by the house and advise me whether or not to to gloss cote it and wash or just do a pin wash. I know it definetely needs some fuel stains and exhaust smudges on the engine deck and aft end. Once again, "tanks" for looking. Any and all comments appreciated. The tracks are primed and ready for weathering too. Out here. Mike sends . . .
