Hi,
you're right. It's difficult to find pictures of this tank.
There are a few (3-4) in a book called HISTORY FILE No. 3 Panzer IV published by NMC Nuernberger Modell-Literatur GmbH
http://www.modellbau-universe.de/produkt;history-file-no-3-panzer-iv-panzerkampfwagen-iv-pz-kpfw-iv-sd-kfz-161-pz-kpfw-iv;NMC~HF003;49;18;5;0.htm). But no photos during combat.
Panzer IV E Vorpanzer mentioned in that book belonged to Pz.Ers.Abt. 5 located in Wuensdorf/Germany. They appear in field grey without any camouflage.
Dragon provides markings for 5 versions:
- Pz.Ers.Abt. 5, Germany 1942 (2x) (field grey)
- Pz.Ers.Abt. Nimes 1942 (field grey)
- Pz.Rgt.31, Russia 1942 (field grey) - Could have taken part in combat, but no proof.
- Pz.Ers.Abt. 4, Germany 1942 (sandy yellow)
Sorry for no better info.
best regards from Germany
