Hi Guy`s
Well after a few years in the making its finally cast. I just got the first batch of parts back from Graham...who has done an exceptional job of casting.. This is where i am after a few hours work cleaning up the parts and attaching them. I will hopefully find the time to finish the mock up in time for Telford. Many thanks to Charlie Pritchett, Nic Cortese, and Tim Roberts for there help along the way. Apologies for the rather poor pics, they were done in a rush due to time.

I'm supposed to be saving money and focus on what I still need to build (stacks about 30-35 kits). I can't afford something this good man.
Honestly though: Great work. I understand this has been in the works for a while and the result is worth every agonizing, painstaking and rewarding minute.

Boom Shields? Who said Boom Shields ?
November 5 2009, 7:15 AM
When Andy gave me the parts to cast he handed over the complete boom shields i.e. with all four sides completed.
I had to break them down and will start to do the molds for them this weekend, the problem is that the parts are so fine that I will probably only have one shot at molding them. But I like a challenge !

The people doing the molding is Airedale Castings

Which is me.
However Andy & I have yet to decide if this is to go commercial. At the moment I have cast up enough parts to only keep Andy happy and to supply those on his e-mail list.
Quite a few parts need to be broken down and simplified to enable commercial casting, so it is over to Andy himself for if, and when, he wants to remake his masters.
Please note though that he received yesterday three test casts of the turret with instructions on what to modify. Also, what you see photographed above is about a half of what has been mastered. There are lots more parts to this and Andy is rushing to finish it in time for the IPMS Nationals this weekend.
Graham

What HAPPENED???
November 5 2009, 12:25 PM
My dear Andy...first all, congratulations because finally your dreams come true, but I would like to say..our dremas come true if finally it is released under any brand.
I asume that something bad happened because you are not releasing this under Mig productions, and I guess Adam sent you back (the masters).
It is a big, big pain.!!!
Is funny to see the history of this master, because many of us have tried, but with not sucess. First me, second, Charlie Pritchet, Nick Cortese too (I think) and finally....YOU!!
When I saw the masters I was very happy. The look was perfect, and was only necesary to add a nice PE set for headlight covers and...of course, under my opinion, the sideshields. Specially to make the Burn out version, you know me
But anyway, I am happy to see that some one made a initial copy for you, and ...I hope see it painted by you.
Of course, my dream still the same: make a Type 69 II C some day, because is MY FAVORITE tank.
Very good work Andy, and was a great pleasure work with you in the begining. I only feel sorry because I was not at Mig Productions to make the final product.
We will stay in tocuh now. Remember that you must help me with my EGyptian T55...

I sure will see it built and painted by you.
I wish to see the "new" MIG....or the "old" one...with a 55 or his versions.Thank you for the years at Mig Production.
I wish you all the best.

I/we appreciate all the fantastic response for this conversion... It has been a labour of love and hope to have it finished for Friday...Maybe see some of you there. As Graham mentioned this a small run of sets until we modify some of the parts.
Mig i hope you find enjoyment in the hobby again, i am sure your methods have inspired most modellers at some point.
Taras, here is a pic of the Baumholder Type 69... it has the same drivers hatch as the Tamiya one i fitted to the model?
It's not getting me quite as excited as the other guys! Ah maybe the modern bug will bite again one day....
Seriously though, I can see it's a beautiful piece of work, some real finesse with your scratchbuilding, particularly those skirts. Graham's casting is none too shabby either.
