Next small update - Exhaust

I found a fatal error in the bottom of the cab. The tunnel for the engine is closer to 4-5 mm. For this reason, the engine will not fit under the cab. The only possible solution is:
Make new parts number - C7 + C15, C11 and C12 adjust.
Photos for comparison.

Wouldn't it make more sense to make the engine slightly smaller to fit the kit than to rework the whole cab to fit the engine? I think you would sell more engine sets than you would huge reworked cab sets.

Engine

I understand, but my motor is done and I know that there will be a lot of modelers who say Real model did very little and incorrect engine. Instead of saying: Hobby Boss did wrong tunnel under the cab.

I agree with your attitude.

What's the point of making wrong aftermarket sets for wrong original kits?

A modeller that is interested in accuracy would correct the cabin without a problem.

Depends....

January 11 2012, 8:51 AM

Given that the kit is already quite a bit of money (I have one preordered) adding expensive conversions/updates to it is going to drive down sales. I'm sure that Real Model rather sell more kits then lose money on them. I'm already balking at a $100 wheel set for the HET..and anything that costs more then say $40 bucks for the kit most likely won't be bought by me.

I just don't see a big market for aftermarket for this kit, given its cost and subject manner. I think they'd be lucky to break 50-100 sales...

Don't agree

If you're going to buy and put the engine in anyway, would you not want it accurate and to scale?? Obviously you would want to display it, so having a puny, underscale engine would look ridiculous. I'd rather spend money on an accurate engine and fix the kit to match - it doesn't look like it would be that big of deal.

Engine/cab set...

As long as the price is reasonable, I'm sure it will be a hit. Good luck on it.
