Going on a slightly different course with this one now. It was going to be a school trip but i found that was going to be a heck of a lot more work and i would have to scratch a lot of figures to pull of a convincing story. i have decided to change it to a holiday for the whole family with grandad showing the generations where he fought as a lad. I need to convert most figures but i think i would be able to pull that off.

.....that is a photo from a real garden with some 1/1 manikins painted as plastic figures!!!
What can I say? FANTASTIC, this is one of the most realistic diorama/vignette I ever seen.

Hello Andy,
best dio I have ever seen. Especially your picture with the real background melting with your dio.
I really cannot say, where the dio ends and the background begins or vice versa.
Great art!!!!

I do believe

that if I had a 1/35 scale metal detector I would no doubt find some battlefield artifacts around that pillbox.
Fabulous work. Thanks for sharing and please show us more when you can! I just have to see the finished product.

I am glad that you changed the subject of your story and

now this dio that was already awesome is now,if possible, even better as there is more harmony. I agree with the guy that said you can't tell where the dio ends and the real background begins in one of your pix. Just brilliant dude!
Nice mods on the figgies although I think the smallest guy looks a little like a Grimm Bros troll.
Wonderful and something for me to aspire to. Thanks for posting this.
For your old man you may want to use my cotton swab hair method

Just a suggestion

Andy, that will be a fantastic Dio and your attention to and eye for detail really lift this one above the pack, simply the best groundwork I have ever seen in this scale.
