I already went out and bought both the T54E1 and T62 (for a firefly project) Bronco tracks! I was planning on following the assembly instructions from Terry Ashley over here
I didn't know they replaced the hull tub in the Cyberhobby kit. The older hull was noticeably too long. That's good to hear.
The AFV Club HVSS suspension is great (almost as good as new DML HVSS, and much better than the Tamiya simplified suspension in the M51).
For a Sherman where you don't have to worry about track sag, the Dragon DS Tracks are really nice, but putting the guide block on every link is almost as much work as link to link track! I heard someone say the chevrons on the Tamiya track were closer to the correct thickness than on the DML DS track, but honestly, I see no difference myself. The Tamiya track doesn't have the hollow guide blocks/horns/teeth (whatever you call them).
I ended up using the AFV Club "nightmare" T80 track on my Tamiya M51. The trick is to cut off all protruding bits on the back of the sprue (the parts they moulded in to allow the sprues to stack, knock-out pads, etc) turn the sprue upside down so that the pads lay flat against your cutting board, and then use a chisel blade cutting straight down to cut the pads off. I had maybe 3 pads break on me out of a total of 158.
I'm looking forward to seeing more....
