This ww1 vignette was inspired by a well known image made by the italian artist Fortinino Matania.
It was not my intension to make a 100% copy but more to use the poses of the figures.

The Mark IV is the old Emhar kit modified with some scratchwork and new tracks from Accurate Armour.

The figures where all sculpted with magicsculp.

To bring the title more into the vignette I decided in a later stage to ad an extra figure on the roof of the Mark IV

And finaly one with a little photoshopping.

Thanks for looking!
Cheers,
Roger

Hi Roger,
Really brilliant work there, I followed the progress over the last months and it turned out extremely well!
Nice to see the usual Hornet heads turning up around this latest tank
Lovely mud everywhere too!
Hi Roge
WOW.
Totally outstanding.
You spend a lot of time in this and result is amazing.
A perfect harmony I think, everything works together very well and the addition of one more figure was a realy good decide.
Oh man you are realy an artist, mate .
And now the obligatory question:what´s next?
Cheers Oliver

Dear Roger,
I hav no words to express you my feelings seen your WORK, IT'S AMAZING.
Composition, figures, ground, vehicle, all works perfectly for a only objective, to shock to the observer, this kind of modelling is the better for me.

Roger one can't just simply walk by when you present your work. It's a terrific piece, love the idea, composition and execution. Everything goes together so well, each figure tells a story of it's own! Brilliant stuff.
See you in October!

What an lovely finish of this scene! I was looking back at the start on your photos thinking this might be ages untill finish. And there it is! Nice sculpting of the figures, nice story and I think it's good you use a WW1 piece as there are so few of it. The titel is very catchy swining back to that band. Well done work!
Regards
Ebbe

I have said this before...

...but I can't stress enough how much I admire your work, Roger. The tank, the figures and the base are all perfectly executed. I especially like how the finishing style of your figures and your vehicles match perfectly - not a mean feat to accomplish.
Putting that figure on top of the tank is a great touch, it's just what this scene needed.

Hi Roger , fantastic work as always , great atmosphere and grounddwork and the figures are as always outstanding, I think the painting is based on the MkIV male at Paschendale that was stuck in German lines for 3 days with its crew using it as a stranded pillbox (the Tank was named "Fray Bentos" after a well know tinned meat)

Doesn't get much better than that. Fantastic!

Everything about that, from the presentation of the base, construction and painting, animation of the figures, is superb. One of the best dioramas I've seen in a while. Congratulations.
I can only echo what has already been said. Your figure sculpting is just first rate and the scene is bought to life beautifully. If I could produce something half as good I would die a happy man!
Well this are a lot responses! Many thanks for all these kind words!.I hope to see most of you on one of the coming shows. and hopefully we can have a chat!
Cheers,
Roger

I did sculp a few dead body's but in the end I decided not to use them because imo there where already enough figures in this scene and it would give to much attention to them. But I understand what you mean!
