All their horror stories about Chechnya may be a perfect dish for someone not familiar with the Chechen realities. They’ve been giving us only one part of the story, where the facts are lumped together and most of the atrocities committed by the rebels are hardly mentioned or even hushed up. In their recent report they only inform about the house to house checks started by the Russians in a district of Chechnya. However, they failed to tell us that they were preceded by the mass crimes committed by the militants: for several months they’ve been killing their countrymen blaming them for alleged treachery for not supporting Jihad and bombing local administrative buildings. Such a coverage only pours oil into the flames of the conflict and protracts the war.

I could have swornd that it was the other way back. That there was virtually no reports of Russian war crimes, while talking about Chechen "terrorists".
