| Have just returned from Chernogoria.
Talked there a lot to people. It seemed that the country is populated by ONLY Serbs.
"If it is," - I asked them. - "How could you vote for Montenegro's independence from Serbia?" "the referendum was sold" - they answered - " Everything was bought by Americans"/
But they fail to explaine how exactly it heppened... WHat does it mean? |

It could not have been a matter of fearing economic collapse. After all, German tourists never shunned a peaceful Yugoslavia.
Did they suggest that the referendum was fixed?
Clever Western propaganda certainly helped. Propaganda and flag-waving, promising great changes and happiness, such as what impelled Macedonians and Bosnian Muslims, who could expect no economic advantage from breaking up the country, to go along with their leaders.
Leaders whose motivation of course was greed.

The leaders' situation is different. Their motivation is clear.
I'm talking about common people.
If they really was cheated by western propaganda, why should they know change their oppinion? The powers hasn't changed since that times!
.. what do I suppose is that they all don't have tough political views and do not really matter about their position. When they meet a Russian - they say "Oh, everything is bought by Americans, people don't support nowerdays political way! Tadic and Vuyanovich are bustards"
.. then they meet a Brittish and say ".. Actually now the times have differed! We chose western way of development. We want to EU! I've been to the elections myself - voted for Vuyanovich and for Montenegro independence"

I suppose that's the colonial mentality. They do not like to be servants, but they figure they have to. On the other hand, the Slavs in Montenegro voted 50/50, you must have met some who do not look forward to be absorbed into the West.
I suppose many Serbs in Serbia and Bosnia are happy to serve. Even some Serbs in Kosovo.
People all over the world get tired of war and accept surrender. | |
