Split Exhaust

I have heard for years now that nothing sounds better than a Dodge Flathead six with a split exhaust. I was told to use a pair of Smithy's Mufflers on a small ID tail pipe. Letting the engine breathe better has to be a good thing and a nice tone coming from the pipes surely would make me happy. BUT, I don't want to be cracking windows every time I shift gears, Have any of you gearheads had any experience with this type of setup on our Flatheads? I found a Guy in Kansas who will split the stock exhaust for 165.00 bucks, with or without the heat riser. Let me know about your setups, I just love a nice Tone when I'm toolin down the road.

Does anyone know if these exhaust exist anywhere on the planet ? I've not see one on Ebay.

These are what I'd like to use on my flathead!

Custom made headers for flathead

I am using a set of headers that were made for a friend, by a muffler shop. They are made from aluminized material and look pretty good. I have them running into 2" pipes, then into a "Y" to pass through a single 2-1/2"x20" glass-pack, and then splitting back to duals that exit at the rear of each running board. The stainless steel tips look nice there, and the setup sounds great.
If you are interested, let me know and I'll email a picture of the header setup.
