Does anyone know what displacment engine was used on the 47 Fargo half ton? I know it has the big Canadian block, but don't know which one.

also, what about the axle ratio? It is geared pretty low and I wondered if I could put in a differential from a later car or truck. I have been told it can take a car differential up to about 1956....I thought it would only be to about 1952 or so.

My 1949 had 4.10 gears. If you have a half ton with 5 bolts on 4 1/2 you could check out the dimensions on a 1970 E-Body that is what I am using now.
