We'll to start with I have to back up a couple of steps. The brake problem that I talked about before (hard pulling to the left) has gotten better. I crawled under the truck and found that the brake line going to the right front had been crushed and was not allowing the fluid to pass to the wheel cylinder. I will replace the whole line soon, but the interim fix was to uncrimp the line as best I could with a vise grip which opened up the line some and has given me much more even front brakes. So with my working brakes I drove the truck to work last week where I learned a couple of things. One the water pump leaks, and two my charging system is not charging. Napa has ordered me a new water pump for $55 and I should be able to pick it up tomorrow. The charging system will have to be worked out at a local electrical shop, as I'm not sure that the 12v conversion (that a previous owner did) ever worked. It makes it hard to asses the problem when the alternator/generator have been replaced, all the wiring has been redone (with all the same colored wire), and I'm not sure if the voltage regulator was replaced with a 12v one. Not to mention all the information I've read on the Internet about negative ground, positive ground, and polarity, ECT. I don't have a clue. Also a previous owner had installed a blinker switch that doesn’t work and I have no clue as to how it should be wired. I will probably buy another aftermarket blinker switch with the directions and give that a werl. The good news is that I picked up my parts truck last weekend and have started pulling stuff off of it that I need like the front bumper (mine doesn’t have one), the electric wiper motor (mine is vacuum and doesn’t work well) and some of the dash switches and gauges. I’m replacing my odometer (mine is faded and the parts truck one looks like new) and two of the dash switches lights and dash panel lights (mine were replaced with ones that don’t match). I’m also looking at switching out the box and tailgate. (Mine are in relatively good shape, but the parts truck ones are perfect. I’m also considering switching my three on the tree with the parts truck four on the floor with the 11-inch clutch. All in all lots of work left, but it should be back on the road next week. Keeping the faith - Mark
