I just bought a really fun 1949 1/2 ton Pilothouse. While fun to drive having to double clutch and not being able to downshift makes it hard to drive in even the smallest amount of traffic. Does anyone know if there is a straight bolt in swap for a slightly newer 4 speed tranny with synchros? Or are there any tricks for down shifting so I don't have to come to a complete stop? I also need a steering wheel as mine is coming about. thanks
