my 2.4 surf also blew A LOT of snmoke when i first got it. the difference being that my smoke was black. i had the injectors serviced (nozzles replaced etc etc) & this cut down the black smoke considerably. i also add a diesel fuel additive which helps a lot.

as ken said, white/blue smoke is not good ..... i suggest you see a good diesel mechanic ASAP.
