Had similar problem less than a month ago. Symptoms leading to failure were intermittant operation from either inside or with the key at the door, Finally failed totally and would not wind up. Found that my problem was contacts in window relay had burnt out due to excessive current being drawn by window motor ( Window tracks were dirty ).

Question - can you hear a click from inside the rear left of the vehicle when you try to operate the window. If you do it sounds like you might have the same problem. It can be repaired cheaply - if you're up for it. Let me know
