Converting to diesel

I have a 1985 Toyota Escaper Campervan with a 22R motor. I am taking it cross-country and would like to convert it to diesel so I can run it on veggie diesel. Is this possible? Will I have to also replace the transmission? Where do I look for help? Any help will do as I further explore this idea. Thank You!
