antenna issue

I have a 97 4runner and have the exact same problem. The cost of the repair depends on how handy you are. All you need is to replace the antenna mast it is fairly inexpensive even at the dealer. If you want to spend a little money you cant buy the entire thing for about $156 brand new. From my experience the antenna mast has a life expectansy of about two years, at least that is how often mine breaks. But I must admit it's the only part of the car I've ever had a problem with.
