94 Toyota 4Runner air chamber water hoses connection diagramsby (no login)My son and I disconnected all the water hoses off the passenger side of the V6 engine for head work (blown head gasket) and didn't take enough detailed pictures. I figured out where all the emissions stuff connects because it's self-explanatory and on top in the pictures we took and the manual shows the layout, but I'm having trouble figuring out where which water hose connects where (there's no diagram showing the connections. Is there a source of diagrams that show this area on the 1994 3.0 L V6? My son thinks he remembers a null hose connection (a loop from one connection down to another on the air chamber manifold). overheating hiluxby hotrodhilux (no login)my 2.8d s/cab 4x4 hilux overheats under load (uphill, aircon on, towing, trying to go to fast(thats not all @ once)). i've replaced the radiator, t/stat, fan hub, temp sender, rad' cap. It leak's some oil, but not water. there's no cross contamination of oil/water, no bubbles in the coolant, but i still feel it may be the head. appreciative of any response. Also considering replacing motor with a 5L (3litre) turbo. anyone done that yet? is it possible?? will i need to replace pumps, alternator, starter motor etc??? do cars have emotions???? Toyota 2L-TE engine warning lightby (no login)I have a 1990 Land Cruiser LJ78 with a 2L-TE EFI Turbo. When running, particularly while warming up for the first few miles, the engine warning light comes on intermittently, but not at the same time as the turbo light. When the light is on the engine throttle will rev up for a few seconds, and then come back down, and then rev up again - quite worrying when you are stopped with your foot off the accelerator and the automatic gearbox in drive. Reading the error code gives code 4, which I believe means a problem with the water temperature sensor, or its wiring, or that part of the ECU. I have replaced the temperature sensor, which had indeed corroded through, but this didn't fix the problem. I have put another ECU in from a donor vehicle, but that made no difference. WHEN THE VACUUM PRESSURE INCREASES, IT WILL ISSTRUCT THE FUEL PUMP TO INCREASE THE RPM AND INJECT MORE FUEL. ON MY LAND CRUISE I GOT THE PUMP ADJUST BY DENSO PUMP SHOP. THEY HAVE A MACHINE THAT CAN ADJUST THE PUMP. THE COST IS NOT VERY HIGH. IN THAILAND IT COST ME ABOUT USD 150 FOR THE JOB. THIS IS ACTUALLY GOOD TO DO AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR 1 -200,000 KM. IT IMPROVED THE MILLAGE AND THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE. IT THE SENSER IS OK AND THE ECU IS OK (USUALLY CHANGING THE ECU SHOULD BE THE LAST RESORT) GET YOUR FUEL PUMP CHECKED. 2L-T Sudden loss of powerby Johnsy (no login)I've only had my 89 SSR LTD for less than a month and I've recently experienced a loss of power when the turbo kicks in compared to before. I've had it checked out by a mechanic and his said everything was fine. The turbo was 0.7 bar and he fixed the 'EPR' valve that was stuck open. When I got it back it still had the same lack of power so I'm thinking it might have something to do with the injectors or the fuel system. Has anyone experienced this problem as well? Excessive outter tire wear on 85 4-Runnerby (no login)Before I bought my 85 4-Runner in about 1996 and after I had excessive tire wear on the outside of my tires (Goodyear Wrangler AS P235/75R15) and about 2 years later I bought a new set of the same tires and decided to pay a local Michellin tire dealer $30+tx to computer align the front alignment (I don't think he even aligned them,I think he ripped me off,what's new?) but after 40 000 KM I noticed that the new tires have excessive wear on the outside and I usually have them rotated every 5000 KM. I don't want to take them again to a tire shop for alignment as I have spent lots of money of my truck as most mechanics are crooks so I would like to know if there is a manual way to align the front tie rod.I have the Factory service manual for my 85 4-Runner. Since the last summer I´m experiencing something simmilar to you (I think). For instance, driving to 100-120 Km/h for a while, if I let the gear in neutral and loose the accelerator to idle, the engine stops in few seconds, of course, moving the entire car. Also, if a push hard to engine quickly for get the next gear and release the pedal, the engine do the same. By other hand, i felt some loose in the power of the engine. Next monday (29/Nov/04) I will left the car in a Bosch Injection Service, it seems is a problem with some sprigns in the "idle control" INSIDE of the injection pump (expensive repair !!!).
