I had a check-up Wednesday and was pleased there was no issue with BP or anything cuz I only got 2 hrs sleep prior to the appointment. The reason? Despite having antivirus and a firewall running, my PC got infected with a virus Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. I spent hours cleaning the virus and looking it up to see whether or not I was at risk of identity theft. I think I'm going to be OK on that score {fingers crossed} but it was a wake up call since I already try to limit my exposure and have only gotten one other virus that I'm aware of, years ago, that came from an email from my Dad's infected computer.
Add to this the fact that, for a second time now, my boss just missed an email sent to him by a government agency. He has two options for checking his email and he almost always uses the method that must have overzealous settings on itsa spam filter. Both times he claimed not to get emails (one from USDA and the other from the US army), I found them by accessing his email a different way. After my proving to him the emails had arrived, he found them in his spam box. But he doesn't like using the method I used because he collects so much junk there... and he won't let me adjust his spam filter so that maybe he'll actually get the emails about permits and grants we apply for.
Having these two experience happen this week, actually just a couple days between them, doesn't do much for my wanting to get adventurous with my joining social networking groups. Not when heavy "traffic" in such communities gets referred to as "going viral". {weak smile} I've never been an extravert. | |
