Hey, I finally got my new computer up and running!! It's still not fast, I still have to settle for cheap dialup...but it's a great improvement all the same! The pix of the Guys look amazing on a bigger screen, wow! I don't have all those...so they will be the first images saved onto this new hard drive...

A little Off Topic: Can anyone tell me how to install Adobe Flash Player? I know that sounds like a stupid question. But I can't get past the .exe file that installs the components but never really lets me access the program! Or maybe it's already installed and I'm not supposed to access it? I don't know. Maybe I should just forget about this and switch to Shock Wave? Any help or advice would be much appreciated...

Not my area of expertise, but...

I think Flash is a browser plug-in, not stand-alone software. Try using the Windows search function an look for files/folders with "flash" in the in the name. I did and one thing I found was an install log with things like "Opera," "Netscape," and "Mozilla" (for Firefox probably) listed. I didn't see anything that looked like it would "launch" Flash despite finding something like GetFlash.exe and another .exe that wound up asking if I wanted to update my Flash {grin}.

Well, I finally had

to give up on Flash player software. I ventured to install ShockWave and the process went smoothly and it works fine. It even shows in my Program Folder, unlike that stubborn Flash player. Weirdly enough, I must have an old flash player installed somewhere (Macromedia?) because in my extensive job of restoring my IncrediMail data, an animation came up saying it was being run by that version of flash. I wouldn't have a clue how to find that in this machine!

But at least Shockwave is working...even though I still cannot view online videos on dial-up. There are some dandy H:tLJ YouTube vids out there, I saw the links on another forum...but I can't view the vids. sad.gif

There is supposedly a plugin you can use on Firefox to save YouTube vids to your own hard drive. But I am leery, I don't go around just downloading anything from any site, it's too risky out there these days.

used to own Flash, Adobe bought it from them.

Using Internet Explorer, go to Adobe.com and get it there. Like Quills said, it's a plug in. I'm personally not too fond of any Adobe stuff - even tho I use it. They always seem to have security vulnerabilities in Flash and Flash is in almost every program they have, I had to snort thru the site to update my new installs of Adobe programs.

I only use it in IE not Firefox and I don't use Shockwave. At all.

That way when I use Firefox, I never see those annoying floating ads or the moving ads. I also use AdBlock Pro addon in Firefox...

I see you didn't play favorites, not that I would have minded {grin}.
Very cool!

Somewhat related to this, with nothing else of interest on TV a couple days ago, I left "Legend of the Seeker" on. I grinned when I saw that the episode was directed by Michael Hurst. There were quite the actiony fight scenes where it was easy to see his "fingerprints" {hee}
