Thanks for checking them out! Glad you liked them. Husband out did himself this year. My personal fave is the one with Pluto. We had a blast in Fl.

Pix from my Left Coast vacation...

June 23 2009, 7:02 PM

Here are some of the pix from my trip to California in March. They are mostly from San Diego/La Jolla. A few in the middle, I think, are from LA. The two black mucky ones are from the La Brea Tar Pits museum in LA. I think they call the bubbling one "Old Faithful" or some such thing (LOL).

That means a lot given your knowledge/experience with photos of flowers! I can't compete with you guys on technique but Mother Nature did help me out with some primo subject matter {grin}.

Me? I tend to be most fond of the ones that suggest a "story" for lack of a better description - ex. the "smiling" sea lion with his head on the "rock pillow" and the lady meditating in the living, hollow tree...

And... Here are some pix from Saturday

July 14 2009, 10:22 PM

It was a lovely weekend here. On Saturday I put the top down on my Cabrio and drove about 2.5 hours north to a town called Wausau. They were having an event called a Balloon Rally and Glow. It also included a mini BBQ competition, live music, kites, some kiddie attractions and biplane rides. Annoyingly, not one of my several sets of rechargable batteries had juice when I arrived and I had to go on quite a hike, but managed to purchase some. I got back to the event grounds at between 6-6:30 PM so the sun was on its way down and the kites were gone. I over-edited some of the pix too in my attempt to compensate for the not so good lighting. But there are a few pretty nice ones.

It wound up being too windy for the balloons to launch. So, as much as I enjoyed the BBQ and music... and imagined I would enjoy the "glow" when it got darker... 5 hours round trip seemed like a lot for just that. So I shelled out some bucks for a biplane ride. It was just as cool as you might expect.

All in all... a fantastic Saturday!!!
