This morning, before I went to work, Aura FoS, my most stalwart Goon, died at the tender Age of 37.
She took with her two Sol Runes, four Orts, a few perfect Skulls and Perfect Topaz, and some of my hopes of doing some experimenting with Crafting.
Her killer was a 22-25 second lag spike. I cannot tell you how disappointing that was. I was in the rogue encampment when she died. !!! She died in the Dark Woods of Nightmare, while on her way to kill Andy in order to get a Holy Freeze merc. Lancers killed her, as best I can reconstruct. Seems she went to a TP, stayed in the RE, and I thought the TP did not take. So, I moved around the RE with valk following. I thus assumed that the lag spike was over. Apparently the server sent her to DW. Went over to ID the Amulet I had found with Akara, and then heard my own char crying out in pain; the screen suddenly flashed to Dark Woods and I hit Escape and save as fast as I could, the thicket of spears from a surrounding bunch of Dark Lancers doing an eerie imitation of the Legion, from the Dark side.
She had changed clothes into a lovely black robe by the time I got to chat.
Revenge is requested on Sunday night. FoS needs to do some Baal anyway . . .
And here I thought the game had drifted off to never-never land! Last couple times I tried to make it, no-one was there, and my post on RBD asking what was up met with no response, so I stopped bothering.
