I told my dear hubby, whom I left my 'great lakes' for, that if I was going to give up the water for mountains, you better take me to see as many of them as you can.... LOL So we did!!!
We finally just got our little slice of heaven in the mountains. 9,200 feet above sea level, and a view of not only Pikes Peak, and another 14er to the NNW of us. I haven't been able to figure out which mountain it is, but it is either, Mt Bross, Mt Lincoln, or Mt Cameron, or maybe all 3 of them *shrug*
Do you canoe? I know Buena Vista has lots of white water rafting places, but I like the slower pace of a canoe ride. I can't ski, (blew out my acl in high school) but I do go tubing snow/water, doesn't matter, it's all fun! I fished all the time in Mi, but that was mostly warm water fish (seems weird but true) Lake Perch, Walleye, Pike, Muskie... But I am willing to give trout fly fishing a try. Although I do think the fly is going to land in my hair more often than the water. I have Roseanna Rosanadana hair when it is down /detangled ( long curly and sometimes resembles bozo the clown ;) especially when blown dry without a diffuser LOL
Well my teenagers are having issues right now, so I will get back to you...
