I'm looking to bring about 15 teens to the Salida/Buena Vista area for four days beginning June 14 for rafting, rock climbing, etc. We want to hike a 14er. Most of the kids are in good shape but may be overwhelmed by a 14er hike. How far is the hike to the summit of Mt. Princeton from the initial parking at the trailhead? How far from the radio towers? Do you think a 2wd van with average clearance would reach the parking spot at the towers? Any info you can give me about the Mt. Princeton hike would be valuable.
