Response to Confused about CNA career

The decision is up to you. Those who chose to work as CNA chose it for their own purposes. I don't think they would have chosen this field if they didn't feel good about themselves, at least I would not. You have to decide what is best for you and your intelligent level to study for an LPN program. As far as wiping private parts, LPNs also wipe private parts when cleaning dressings as well as cleaning decubitus and other wombs that have odors. Also, not only CNAs do lifting, periodically, LPNs turn and help lift residents when they make their rounds for dressing wombs. Some people look down on CNAs, but you would be surprised that there are LPNs who too get looked down upon. In my agency LPNs are called "RN want to be" or "they could not cut it as an RN". No matter how people feel about the career path you take, there will always be someone who will think of you negatively or unfavorable. You have to chose your career path that is right for you and be proud. As for me, I am happy to be a CNA,
