Pressure Sores

It has been awhile since I have posted any messages on the board! I'm hoping for some more good advice.
For the past couple of months, i have been working in a hospital ICU and loving it! What a wonderful feeling it is again to actually enjoy going to work! It is tough and hard work but exciting and fulfilling.
For the most part, the nurses are wonderful and treat the CNA/s with the upmost respect. Rarely do i have to bathe a patient by myself and if a procedure needs to be done, many times I am asked to come along and observe or assist. Most of the nurses are right there with me, even though many times I tell them no need. Many perfer to assist just so they can better assess the patient. Which now leads me to why I am posting - Six patients have been admitted lately from one local nursing home with stage 3 and 4 pressure sores. One who is positive for MRSA and one who will have surgery this morning. Many of the nurses have been digusted with the neglect of care these patients are receiving. During the discussion of neglect for these sores, it was stated many times that social services has been triggered before and reported to the state ombudsman but this particular nursing home always seems to "get away with it" becasue they say the patient comes to the nursing home with such sores. One patient admitted this week had a central line in for 11 days that had never been cleaned or dressed. Supposedly he was transported from a hospital out of state to this nursing home with the central line already in place, but no one bothered to address it. It seems that most of these patients do not have family here who can check on them regularly.
What can be done to have this nursing home investigated for the lack of care and neglect these patients are receivng here? Thanks!
