Dyane, you are so not alone. The LTC iwork at never has enough clean linens in tha am. only 9 towels and wash cloths to service 12 residents! We admit patients with all types of dementia although we are not equipped for it. I can not even begin to tell you all the people that fell and hurt themselves because we cannot be t\here 24/7 to help them. Most of them need to be on a psych ward somewhere. They hit other residents and staff. no one does anything about them. Our facility has been investigaged several times last year and the beginning of this year. Yes they were fined! We had a patient fall out the window, and our nursing home,covered it up by saying they don't know how he got outside. then why was he rushed to the hospital if he walked outside? Why did he have a fracturd clavicle and ribs with many cuts and abrasions if he just walked outside 4 am and not one say him. all that happens to LTC's is a fine. thats it. thats why they get away with it.
