Another reason I am glad to be out of the business. It's another example of the industry going too far in defense of the residents and at odds with the caregivers.
It's another example of PC --- it's pure crappola. She needs to be told that her butt will be kicked out of the facility if she doesn't stop, immediately. As far as I'm concerned, she should be refused care until she accepts it from anyone.
Yeah right --- so much for that dream! I'm not working as a CNA any longer and this is one subject area that gets me riled up! I encountered this in LTC and hospital.
What can you do --- not much. As you stated, her attitude is known --- specifically, known by management. Hopefully, that means no one else on staff will be subjected to suspension or any kind of work-retribution. The industry is so messed up now that caregivers have no power. They pretty much just have to 'take it' --- goes for nurses on up to doctors.
I just don't understand how the 'business' got to the point where you can't tell a more-than-rude resident to stop, or be forced to go elsewhere! Those of you who have done customer service enounter the same thing. You should not have to be cursed at, hollered at, or accept any kind of discrimination, or whatever, in the name of customer service.
Only in America does this go on............... My rant for the day...........
