Yes it is a shame Rance, and you may be right. However, PA state law does not allow an abusive resident to remain in a place where there are a harm to themselves and other patients. Too many residents, staff and visitors are harmed by this lady. No one with the authority wants to send her to another facility. They babble on that it it a lot of paper-work and someone has to be with her for her psych consult. It's not keeping her grounded that is the problem, the problem is her agenda is to attack. She will wheel herself all the way up a hall just to kick another helpless resident. This should not be tolerated. once the state gets involved all hell is going to break loose because they got in trouble before for housing a resident who was harming others. The residents are to be free of abuse. This can be prevented and the appropriate steps are ignored. I guess it happens all over. How would anyone like it if they knew that on a routine basis, their loved one is being used as a punching bag for a demented resident?
