Abusive Residents:

hello there,im responding to your post because i feel the same as you do,but however i do undertsand that those type of residents donot know that they are doing this,it is a shame and is very sad that they do this,im not trying to defend them on this because the other residents are to be free of abuse and so is the cnas.ok now we had a situation kinda like this out of one of our residents who was on the altimers unit.now this man is very strong,and to put it like this in order to even give him a shower they had to give him adavan in order to do this which is very awful to say the least,but about a month ago this same resident i am speaking of took a bible and layed it on his roommates chest and then took a pillow and was trying to smother the poor roommate,well the girls heard the roommate screaming to stop so they went in to see what was going on and found him trying to kill this poor guy,well let me tell you that they got him shipped out to physc fast.well last year this same resident tried to hit a cna but instead as he was swinging she moved out of the way fast and he hit his knuckles and cut them open,now if he would have hit her then he would have done some bigtime damage to her,this is how srtong the man is,well needless to say our nursing home refused to have him back in our facility on the protection of our staff and other residents
