Yes I agree. Taking pictures are a sensitve issue, and they are forbidden in many LTC's without consent. With that said, you know not everyone can speak for themselves in the nursing home. We had a incident last week. A woman claimed to be visiting a resident and she worked in a photo studio. She was in the hallway flashing pictures of everyone. I asked her to stop and made her delete any images in her camera. Make sure it is legal to take pictures. Hippa started new laws. You would be surprised at what can come up over pictures.
Seems you have a good heart. Call your Ombudsman, administrator or state office. If conditions are as bad as you say, someone will be on it. They can see for themselves. This is a touchy issue. If you really feel they are mistreating the residents, you need to find another job to protect your butt in case there is a real problem. |
