I agree with angie444. If you read the messages on this board, you will find a lot of CNAs who is discontent with there jobs working as CNA. On the other hand, there are a few of us who don't mind working your fingers to the bone and not being appreciated.
As for me, working as a CNA has been rewarding and degrading. We get the less pay and work the hardest. There are times when I feel like I am the scum of the earth when I leave the nursing home. Yet alone being made to work another shift because the next shift is understaff, and management is less considered to hire more staff. If you are strong enough to endure the disrespect, working hard, working short, cut throat, and working staff, then this is the field for you.
It take special people to work and be satisfied in this field. I would not recommend this my children. If this the best you can do and love to work with elderlies and really say you are happy, I say do it.
