When I was supervising at an Assisted living (2nd and 3rd shift), I would make it mandatory to have "meetings once a week".
The facility that I was working at was two large homes (16 residents each) but they were connected by a yard, patio, etc. that was fenced in.
At 9:30 p.m. once a week...30 minutes prior to shift change... we would sit outside on the patio, I would order pizza (slush fund money) and just yap. Not about the 1st shift... geez, that was for those real meetings..lol.
We could still see and hear what was going on in the house. If a resident was still awake, we would bring them out too!
We would just hanged out and let loose. When winter would come (we are in MN), it kinda bummed my crew. It was fun.
Funny to think of it though, a few of those people are now working for me at my new facility. I do love them. |
